Welcome to 4×4 Trip Car Hire Uganda! We’re excited to help you explore Uganda with ease. Before you book a vehicle with us, please take a moment to read our terms and conditions. By using our services, you agree to these terms.

1. Rental Eligibility

  • Age Requirement: To rent a vehicle, you must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver’s license.
  • Driver’s License: All drivers must present a valid driver’s license at the time of rental. International drivers should provide an International Driving Permit (IDP) along with their license.
  • Payment: A valid credit or debit card is required for all bookings. Payment is due at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed.

2. Vehicle Condition

  • Inspection: We ensure our vehicles are in good working condition. Before you drive away, you’ll inspect the vehicle with our representative and note any pre-existing damage.
  • Return Condition: Please return the vehicle in the same condition you received it, except for normal wear and tear. Any damage caused during the rental period is your responsibility.


3.Rental Period

  • Pick-Up and Drop-Off: Vehicles must be picked up and returned at the agreed-upon locations and times. Late returns may incur extra charges.
  • Early Returns: If you return the vehicle before the rental period ends, no refund will be issued for unused days.

4. Use of the Vehicle

  • Permitted Use: The vehicle must only be used for personal or business travel. Off-road driving, racing, towing, or illegal activities are strictly prohibited.
  • Unauthorized Drivers: Only those listed in the rental agreement are allowed to drive the vehicle. If someone else drives, the insurance may be void.

5. Insurance and Liability

  • Insurance Coverage: Our rentals come with basic insurance, covering damages to third parties. You are responsible for any damage to the vehicle or loss incurred during the rental period.
  • Additional Coverage: We offer optional comprehensive insurance to minimize your liability. Please ask about this at the time of booking if you’re interested.

6. Cancellation and Changes

  • Cancellation Policy: You may cancel your reservation up to 48 hours before the scheduled pick-up time without penalty. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before pick-up may be subject to a fee.
  • Changes to Booking: If you need to modify your booking (e.g., dates or vehicle type), please contact us as soon as possible. We’ll do our best to accommodate changes, subject to availability.

7. Breakdown and Assistance

  • Mechanical Issues: If the vehicle experiences a breakdown during your rental, please contact us immediately. We’ll provide roadside assistance and, if necessary, a replacement vehicle.
  • Customer Assistance: We offer 24/7 customer support. In case of emergencies or questions, reach out to us via the contact details provided in your rental agreement.

8. Traffic Violations and Fines

  • Responsibility: You are responsible for any parking tickets, traffic violations, or toll fees incurred during the rental period.
  • Notification: If we receive notice of a violation after the rental period, we’ll charge your credit card for the fine, plus an administration fee.

9. Damage and Theft

  • Damage: You are responsible for any damage to the vehicle that occurs during the rental period. In the event of an accident, theft, or damage, you must notify us immediately and provide all relevant information.
  • Security: Please ensure the vehicle is locked and parked in safe areas when not in use. We are not responsible for any personal belongings left in the vehicle.

10. Limitation of Liability

While we strive to offer excellent service, we cannot be held liable for:

  • Delays caused by unforeseen circumstances (e.g., traffic, weather, or mechanical failure).
  • Personal injuries or property damage that occur during the rental period, except where required by law.
  • Loss of use or inconvenience due to vehicle repairs or breakdowns.

11. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. If we make significant changes, we’ll notify you via email or update the terms on our website.
